Web & app design
I prototype websites and apps in Adobe XD or Figma.
I've built websites using design tools like Squarespace, Wix, and Wordpress.
I often write websites 'manually' in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
This web page was made completely from scratch - no templates, no AI!
I've made standalone apps using Unity and Max MSP.
App design and animation for the English National Opera's Finish This... project
In 2022, the English National Opera were running a schools outreach project called Finish This... which encouraged school classes to create their own operatic pieces using voices, instruments, and found objects.
The ENO wanted a way to present all these creations, and wanted schools to be able to make their own animated music videos if they wished. I was asked to come up with a solution so that schools could create their own custom music videos in response to the audio they had already made.
Using Max MSP for its audio capabilities, I created a standalone app for Windows which would let the user customise animations which would programmatically respond to the music.
See below for some of the animations I created, a peek behind the curtain on what the node-based programming looked like, and my explainer video on how to use the application.
Branding & web design for Pond Area Games
I designed the logos, branding, and website for Pond Area and the videogame Prince of Darkness Jr.
The brief was a small website which could easily scale up with more games added to the company's slate, since most traffic would be going through Steam or Itch rather than the company's own page.
Visit the website here.
Additional web design for The Drive Project
I came onboard to help update pages after The Drive Project had re-designed their website in 2022.

Web design for drone photography company AltaView Aerials
The first website I designed was for a drone photography company based in Los Angeles called AltaView Aerials.
Unfortunately the website is no longer being maintained.
Other work
I've done so much different work that it's hard to fit it all in -- so here are some other things I haven't been able to include otherwise.
-
One For All: a livestreamed gameshow with remote contestants
-
Pinocchia: an award-winning remote performance
-
Facilitation work and arts workshops
-
Tech support for simultaneous interpretation
-
Minority language film screenings
-
Four More Walls: award-winning digital workshops
My background
I've been drawing as long as I can remember, and making films as soon as I could get my hands on a camera.
I got into technical theatre at university, and learned the software for video design and projection mapping during lockdown.
I'm self-taught when it comes to coding and software development.
I now work as a freelance artist, filmmaker, and designer.
Skills
I'm a generalist and have a wide skillset, including:
Education
I have a BA in Philosophy and Linguistics (graduated 2021).
I studied film with the BFI FutureFilm Academy (2017) and was on the BAFTA Mentorship programme (2018).
I studied facilitation with the National Theatre Learning Department.
I have a Level 2 Certificate in British Sign language, and am currently studying Level 3.
While at school I took classes in cartooning and comic book art from HuwJ Matsumura.
My interests
I'm interested in stories: film, theatre, prose, music, journalism, anything with narrative.
I like working on projects which embrace and champion accessibility -- I've worked on projects with Deaf artists, learning-disabled artists, and artists with limb differences.
I'm interested in minority languages -- I've started curating film screenings of films in British/Celtic minority languages.
I love movies -- my favourite filmmaker is Buster Keaton.
I studied analytic philosophy at university, and am particularly interested in metaphysics and logic. I wrote my thesis on time travel.
I play bass guitar and occasionally write songs. I play basketball (badly) and am taking gymnastics/tricking classes.
